Places To Prospect
Coker Creek
- I have been to many places on Coker Creek and never had very good luck. I believe there is extremely good spots here but I just don’t know enough about the creek to find those “Glory Holes”. I have seen many pictures and videos of people finding pickers from Coker Creek, especially the lower section of coker creek.
Wildcat Creek
- Wildcat creek is a nice creek but is not for the faint of heart. The hike in is nice, The hike out is a killer though. It is about an half to one mile hike straight up. I was unable to spend very long at this location so my success was short lived. I will go back one of these days and possibly spend the night.
Little River
- Oh, what do I say about the Little river? This is my favorite place to prospect. I have never been skunked while playing in the river. I always leave with gold, always! The best spot to hit is the pull off at the picnic area, such easy access.
Clinch River
- Clinch river is a large river that dumps into Norris lake. I have spent one day on Clinch river and found only one piece of gold. It was however a nice flake but still, that was all I found. I have heard of other reports of people finding gold on Clinch but I don’t believe there is enough gold here to spend time prospecting it.
